In-Frame Kitchens: Experience Timeless Elegance in Your Home
Discover the luxury and charm of In-Frame kitchens in Peterborough, a popular kitchen design choice for discerning homeowners. Inspired by traditional cabinetry construction, in-frame kitchen doors are synonymous with strength, quality, and a timeless kitchen feel. The in-frame look is also highly elegant, with the framed detail drawing attention to its supreme quality of craftsmanship.
Although in-frame kitchens have been found in homes for hundreds of years, their unrivalled quality and craftsmanship, combined with great flexibility with colour and design, have boosted their appeal in recent years making them an extremely popular choice for modern kitchen renovations.
What Is an In-Frame Kitchen Door?
In-Frame kitchens are characterised by their distinctive construction method. As their name suggests each door of an In-Frame kitchen is framed within the cabinetry; the doors are fitted seamlessly into this purpose-built frame, offering an exceptional level of detail, a truly bespoke kitchen aesthetic and a strong, enduring finish. The structure is such that the door is smaller compared to a standard-size kitchen door, but because it sits within a frame it is incredibly strong, durable and will never be able to drop. It is this that makes in-frame kitchen doors a popular option for customers who want a kitchen that will truly stand the test of time in terms of look and functionality.
The Allure of In-Frame Kitchen Cabinets
The construction of In-Frame kitchens requires precision, skill, and experience, making them a symbol of superior craftsmanship. Even more than this, whilst the classic design of In-Frame kitchens pays homage to traditional carpentry, it also allows unparalleled flexibility in design, with room for modern adaptations and stylistic choices. Whether you’re drawn to a classic, ornate design, or you prefer a more contemporary minimalist style, the In-Frame kitchen style can be adapted to suit your individual taste. It’s an opportunity to own a kitchen that is not only beautifully designed but also uniquely yours.
Customisable In Frame Kitchen Options
At IDC Putney in Peterborough, our In-frame kitchen cabinet doors are highly customisable and available in a range of luxury finishes, including solid Oak, matt lacquer, or painted woods, which can be finished in any colour of your choosing. With this style of door, the butt hinges are visible, creating a feature in their own right. To accentuate this, our In-Frame kitchen door hinges are available in a choice of luxury colours and finishes, meaning you never have to compromise on your finished kitchen’s look.
In Frame Shaker Kitchens
In-Frame Shaker kitchens beautifully combine two enduring design concepts, resulting in a stunning blend of traditional craftsmanship and minimalist aesthetic. Our in frame shaker kitchens retain the distinctive construction of In-Frame kitchen designs, where doors are set within a robust frame, but the Shaker element brings simplicity and functionality into the mix, with its hallmark design of a flat centre panel and square edges, free of ornate detailing. This fusion results in a kitchen design that is both stylish and practical, providing a subtle, understated elegance that fits seamlessly into your home. The use of high-quality materials in In-Frame Shaker kitchens, combined with precise craftsmanship, guarantees a kitchen that is not only visually appealing but also robust and built to stand the test of time.

What’s the Difference between In-frame and Lay-On Kitchen Doors?
Similar in style to the In-frame kitchen door, lay-on kitchen doors feature a kitchen door front which lays on the front of the kitchen carcass, whereas the in-frame door is fixed within a visible frame. The other major differences are that in-frame kitchen doors feature visible hinges, whereas lay-on hinges are concealed. Finally, soft close door options are available for lay-on doors but cannot be implemented for in-frame doors, although they do work for in-frame drawer boxes.
